Slugs and snails and puppy dogs —. If you are of an age, you know how the rhyme goes. The gardener’s nightmare, however I have a soft spot for them, and not a squishy one either. Back in 2019, I think it was August, I was watching this guy (the one in the picture up there) through the open back door. I was fascinated just watching it/him/her. I just had to photograph it. I did something I never thought I would again: I climbed out of my wheelchair, grabbed my camera gear and clumsily made my way outside. I don’t know how long I was out there, but I was exhausted when I got back into the house.

After seeing the images, ‘Daylight Sluggery’ was born. It is a long-term project that I will add to from time to time.
