Capturing the Atmosphere of the Wilderness

I’I am a fine-art photographer originally from Liverpool, now deeply rooted in the rugged landscapes of South Wales. My work is driven by a profound appreciation for the natural world—capturing the dramatic interplay of light, shadow, and atmosphere in a way that refuses to take a single detail for granted.

My connection to the outdoors began in my childhood, spent in quiet patience on canal banks, rivers, and remote lakes while fishing. That early appreciation for stillness evolved into a lifelong journey in photography that began in school back in 1973, when a teacher persuaded me to join the camera club. Decades of capturing the world culminated in refining my technical craft later in life, graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a BA (Hons) in Photography in 2022. I am also proud to be an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS).

Living in South Wales places me at the gateway to some of the most dramatic coastlines and wilderness in the UK, with easy access to Bristol and the West Country. My work is defined by a desire to reveal both the thunderous fury and the mirror-like stillness of nature—capturing the profound, raw beauty of the world that so many pass by.
