Copyright policy, what you can and can't do
The images are mine; keep your mitts off them.
Be it known that this 'Copyright Policy' covers all visual tapestries, photographic captures, and written chronicles contained herein; these are the sole and exclusive copyright of the proprietor. Let no soul replicate, distribute, or misappropriate these works under penalty of strict legal redress.
The Rules of the Ledger:
If you want to use what you find here, follow these protocols. If you don't, expect the Archivist to take notice.
The Golden Rule:
Everything here is my property. You are welcome to view it, and browsers are allowed to "cache" it so the site functions, but that’s where your rights end. Downloading for personal enjoyment is fine; anything else requires my express written permission. If you’re caught stealing or distributing my work, consider this your warning.
The Student Exemption:
If you are a student and need an image for a non-commercial project, go ahead. Just cite me properly. If you try to pass it off as your own or use it for money, the exception vanishes.
Social Media Sharing:
You may share my work on social media, provided you aren't a numpty about it. Use the sharing widgets. Link back to charliehannah.co.uk
Do not strip the credit, do not alter the image, and do not copy-paste my work onto other sites. If you’re a blogger writing a guide for other photographers, you’re welcome to use a shot, provided you attribute it properly.
Commercial Interest: Want to make money off my work? You need to talk to me first. Send an email to mail@charliehannah.co.ukTell me which image, where it’s going, how long it’s staying, and why you think you deserve to use it. If I don't give you written consent, do not touch it.
Integrity Measures: To keep my work from being butchered, I use watermarks, specific sizing, and low-resolution versions. If you see a watermark, it’s there for a reason. Don't try to remove it.
Infringement: Copying my work to your hard drives, clouds, or prints without permission is theft, plain and simple. It’s a serious matter, and I don't take kindly to having my work pinched.
The Standard Disclaimer:
This site is provided "as is". I don't guarantee it will be error-free, secure, or that it will even work properly on your machine. Use the data you download at your own risk—I’m not responsible if your computer decides to have a meltdown.
Governing Law:
If we have a disagreement, we settle it in the courts of England and Wales. That is the only place this ledger recognises for legal disputes. To be honest, no one wants black eyes; I'm too old for that crap.
